Overview

Stake.com is owned and operated by Medium Rare N.V., who are registered and licensed in Curacao. When Stake launched in 2017, it was among the first cryptocurrency online casinos. The sportsbook was only actually added in 2020, but it has added to Stake’s success tenfold.

Nowadays, Stake has solid partnerships with the UFC, whose official betting partner they are, as well as Watford FC as their main sponsor.

Stake has a very strong reputation, is considered secure and appreciated for fast payouts. We’ve seen many positive customer comments about them, especially from people who have played at their casino for years.

We’ve taken a close look at Stake.com for you to help you determine whether this is a good betting site in India.

Here is what we liked:

  • Welcomes customers from India
  • Sportsbook covers many sports and eSports
  • Great online casino
  • 24/7 live chat
  • Interesting promotions
  • Modern and user-friendly design
  • Well-known crypto currency betting site
  • No withdrawal limits

What didn’t we like?

  • Only Curacao license
  • Not much live streaming
  • Odds for secondary leagues are not great
  • Does not accept traditional payment options

Safety and Security

As mentioned above, Medium Rare N.V., the company behind Stake, is licensed through the Curacao government. This is not our favourite betting license, which is why we always judge betting sites with this license on their own merits. Often this turns out for the better.

Stake.com has built up an excellent reputation. Most reviewers rate them highly and we have mostly seen comments from happy customers. Indeed, at AskGamblers, Stake has received a very good review and loads of customers recommend them.

And whilst positive reviews are one side of the equation, we are also happy to report that we have not found any major complaints. At AskGamblers, only four complaints have been recorded, which is very little, and all of them are resolved.

We have not found any other major problems with them anywhere else either.

In addition, as a cryptocurrency betting site, you can count on all your transactions being completely safe and anonymous. This is an important factor for many punters and there is no reason to worry here at Stake.

We consider Stake a safe betting site in India and have no concerns if you want to sign up here.

Betting and gambling at Stake.com

Stake offers about 30 sports and a handful of eSports to bet on. All sports and leagues are listed in the left-hand menu, where they are sorted into ‘live events’, ‘starting soon’, ‘popular’, ‘top sports’ and ‘all sports’. Whether you are looking for traditional sports, eSports, live events or upcoming events, you will have to scroll through the list to find it.

Of course, Stake has odds for plenty of cricket matches, the top sport in India. We found a good selection of cricket events to bet on here, which included major tournaments as well as smaller ones.

Most of the events you can bet on at Stake are either live or coming up soon. If a tournament or match is further away in the future, you may not find betting options just yet.

There is a solid number of markets available and the bigger an event, the more markets you will find. Smaller sports or leagues will be less well covered. And they will also have odds that are not quite as good as bigger sporting events or leagues will get.

The sportsbook is very easy to use, which is great even for newbies. Whether you want to place pre-match bets or live bets, you’ll find your way around easily here.

Note that live betting is available, of course, but only a handful of matches are also streamed live. A small TV icon beside the match will indicate whether I can be streamed or not. Mostly, you will get some live stats and that’ll be that.

Casino Gambling

Given that Stake started out as a casino, it is no surprise to find that they have an excellent casino offering. This is not necessarily a given, but in their case absolutely true. And Stake went with quality over quantity. They may not have thousands of slots from dozens of developers, but they do have well over a thousand games from about 35 developers, which is more than enough.

Indeed, many of our favourite casino game providers are present here, meaning you get an excellent library of games, which offer great graphics, fun gameplay and even the opportunity to win jackpots.

Games are supplied by the likes of NetEnt, Microgaming, Thunderkick, Quickspin, ELK, Red Tiger, Play’n GO, Yggdrasil, Pragmatic Play, Push Gaming and others.

The casino is sorted into different categories, though they are not always as convenient as we would like the to bet. For instance, there is no category for jackpot games, but there are definitely jackpot games available. You’ll have to do a manual search to find Mega Moolah or Divine Fortune, which is not exactly convenient, but we are happy that the games are available to begin with.

The live casino is on the smaller side. At the time of our review, there were 37 games listed, mostly supplied by Evolution Gaming, Playtech and Pragmatic Play. The library is solid and contains some favourite live dealer tables, but you won’t find Andar Bahar or Teen Patti here.

Welcome Offer and Promotions

Whilst Stake.com has a variety of promotional offers and bonuses available, a welcome bonus is not part of the offer. This is the case whether you sign up at the casino or the sportsbook. Indeed, from what we have seen, this has always been the case.

So, if you are adamant on getting a welcome offer, Stake.com is not for you. But we honestly don’t ever feel that welcome offer is the main draw of a betting site, especially since they can have wagering requirements that are no fun at all.

Instead, let’s focus on the fun promotions.

Stake has a few regular promotions going on such as the $50,000 weekly giveaway. During a given week, when you have wagered a cumulative $1,000 at the casino and/or sportsbook, you receive a prize draw ticket for this giveaway. At the end of the week there will be 10 winners among whom the prize pool is shared.

The daily $100k race is another big promotion going on, where you automatically enter with every wager you place. It’s more or less a betting/wagering sort of tournament and at the end of the day you can win cash prizes.

And whilst the promotion is listed in USD, prizes are paid out in Bitcoin.

Other promotions are regularly available and include special offers for sports events or matches, network promotions from developers such as Pragmatic Play, cashback offers and more. The seems to be a fairly even number of casino and sports promotions, which should make everyone happy.

Payment methods at Stake

As a cryptocurrency betting site, Stake doesn’t offer traditional banking methods. You will only be able to make a deposits and withdrawals choosing currently among eight cryptocurrencies.

These are:

  • Bitcoin
  • Bitcoincash
  • Dogecoin
  • EOS
  • Ethereum
  • Litecoin
  • Ripple
  • Tron

As is the nature of cryptocurrencies, these transaction will be completely anonymous, absolutely secure and they will be fast. Once a withdrawal request is approved, you will have your funds very quickly, which is always a benefit and ensures trust with the brand is maintained.

Now, we have mentioned USD amounts above when we discussed promotions, and this is how things are indeed displayed on the Stake homepage. Whilst you will only be able to use cryptocurrency here, Stake implemented an experimental feature which allows you to display your funds in a fiat currency. These are USD, Euro or JPY. As far as we are aware, these are currently the only fiat currencies you can choose from, though they should suffice, and it would likely be more difficult to try and make more currencies available. Given that you can’t deposit in these currencies anyway, this is just a way to make the use of the site easier and give you a better idea of your actual funds, especially if you are new to crypto.

Another reason behind this is that the USD value for each cryptocurrency is different, so this does help a lot.

Stake.com offers a few helpful articles around the subject, which we encourage you to check out.

Beyond that, it is also worth noting that the minimum withdrawal is listed for each cryptocurrency and that there is no maximum withdrawal limit, which is also explicitly stated on the site.

By the way, if you don’t already own cryptocurrencies, you can purchase them through the site using more traditional payment methods.

Support

The help centre at Stake is well-organised. You can choose among specified topics and will be able to browse through a number of articles about these topics. There is an FAQ section as well and you can use the search function in the live support window, which you can easily access via the small button at the bottom of the right-hand side. It displays a headset and offers you options when looking for help.

Important news may also be displayed here, which may include technical issues the site is experiencing.

The customer service at Stake is available around the clock and enjoys a good reputation. They are engaging, responding to comments in betting and gambling forums and seem determined to resolve any issue you may encounter.

Software

Stake.com comes with a reasonably minimalist design. There is no top menu and the main menu on the left-hand side can be folded away. Ads aren’t intrusive and the landing page keeps things to the bare minimum of information, where you don’t need to scroll down endlessly to arrive at the bottom where further links are available.

When you open the main menu, you can either filter according to the sportsbook or the casino. Navigation is easy, even though there aren’t a ton of filter options in either section. Again, it’s a more minimalist approach, which gives the site a modern feel and we have never encountered issues finding our way around.

This also translates well to the small screen of mobile devices, which gives you a full betting and gambling experience and is a joy to use.

There are no dedicated mobile apps, which don’t seem necessary anyway.

Summary

Not only were our issues with Stake.com few, but we found them mostly negligible. We really enjoyed using this betting site and checking out everything that is on offer here.

It may not be specifically geared towards customers from India, but you will find plenty to enjoy here. You just need to keep in mind that this is a crypto betting site, where you won’t be able to make deposits in INR or even see your stake displayed in INR.

You will be able to change the language settings to Hindi, which is useful though.

And you will get a great betting site alongside an excellent casino that is not only safe and secure, but trustworthy, easy to use and a lot of fun.
