BetBarter was launched in 2017, which means it will have been around for five years this year. That’s quite impressive for a bookmaker that can still be considered relatively new on the market. BetBarter primarily caters to customers from India but welcomes customers from around the world.
This betting site and online casino is operated by Sky Infotech N.V., a company that is registered and licensed in Curacao.
At first glance, BetBarter has a lot to offer to customers from India, which includes a solid sportsbook, a betting exchange, a casino and live casino and some worthwhile bonuses and promotions.
BetBarter seems to be held in high regard with plenty of positive reviews available online. With their good cricket and kabaddi betting options, it is no surprise that they are favoured by customers from India.
We have taken a thorough look at everything they have to offer in our review below. Let’s first check out some things we liked and those we didn’t like.
Here is what we liked about them:
- Primarily caters to customers from India
- Available in English and Hindi
- Solid cricket and kabaddi betting
- Betting exchange available
- 24/7 customer service
- Good casino and live casino tables
- Interesting bonus offers
- Excellent selection of payment options
What we didn’t like:
- Only Curacao license
- Website can lag occasionally
- No jackpot games at the casino
- Not many withdrawal options
Safety and Security
Any betting site that manages to last longer than a year or two is worth checking out. Clearly, they are doing something right and have either managed to gather a loyal customer base or they even grow their customer base steadily. Whichever the case may be with BetBarter, they will have been around for five years this year, which is solid in our book.
The site seems to be somewhat underrated, which is to say it hasn’t made a big splash in the industry. You may have heard of it, but it is not a betting site that is very well known. But once you check them out, you get the impression that they are doing a solid job and are possibly worth signing up to.
Whilst BetBarter is only licensed in Curacao, we couldn’t find any complaints about them that were unusual and no major infractions or accusations of fraud or misconduct. Other reviewers have given BetBarter good and even very good ratings and praise the betting site for their high odds, great customer service and varied betting markets.
This bookmaker has also partnered with Vanuatu Blast and Zambia Cricket League as their official betting partner, which is generally a good sign that a betting site is considered trustworthy.
We have certainly checked how safe and secure BetBarter is and found no issues here.
Betting and gambling at BetBarter
As a betting site that primarily caters to customers from India, cricket and kabaddi are listed in prime position in the sportsbook. When you click on it, you’ll find all the leagues and major events currently available for betting in different countries. This includes The Ashes, various international Test Series and ODIs, the U19 World Cup and New Zealand’s Super Smash leagues. We couldn’t find smaller events or leagues that take place further in the future. The Ford’s Trophy is currently running in New Zealand with a few matches coming up soon, but betting was not offered at the time of our review.
There is a chance that such events are covered at BetBarter as well but simply were too far in the future for markets to appear just yet. Indeed, even events taking place tomorrow only showed up with one or two pre-match markets, whereas live events were covered with dozens of markets.
The same is true for kabaddi, where the Pro Kabaddi League was available for betting at the time of our review. The further away a match was, the fewer betting markets were available.
BetBarter also offers many other sports to bet on, which include football, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, American Football, Aussie Rules, badminton, darts, ice hockey, rugby, MMA, waterpolo and a handful of eSports.
It is not the most varied selection of sports to bet on and in particular niche sports were not present. We also couldn’t find any markets for the upcoming Olympic games, though this may change as the event draws nearer.
BetBarter certainly offers a smaller sportsbook, but they do manage to give customers high odds, which compensates for missing sports or events.
Live betting here is excellent and big events may very well be available via live streaming. At the very least, you’ll be able to follow a match via live animation, which is also useful.
Betting Exchange
If the classic sportsbook doesn’t offer the action you are looking for, you have always the option to check out the betting exchange and back or lay your own bets on various sports and events there. Betting exchange are a great alternative for experienced punters as you don’t have to settle for the odds offered by the bookmaker. Instead, you can generate your own odds, you just have to find someone to back them.
Plus, there are not many bookmakers that offer betting exchanges in India, which means there are few to choose from. So, be sure to check this one out as well.
Casino Gambling
Whilst primarily a betting site, BetBarter also offers a casino and live casino table. The nearly three dozen providers are often smaller developers, which you may never heard of, but the casino also includes games from well-known developers such as NetEnt, Push Gaming, Yggdrasil Gaming, Quickspin, Pragmatic Play or Hacksaw.
You’ll be able to sort games according to provider, slots, Indian games, Megaways, new games, scratch and bingo, table games, turbo games and virtuals.
If you’re looking for jackpot games, you are in the wrong place. There is no separate category of jackpot games available and checking for even the smaller jackpots from NetEnt or Yggdrasil didn’t yield any results.
So, whilst you can easily have a lot of fun with many different games, you won’t be able to spin for the big win here.
The live casino is great, offering games from Ezugi, Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and a few others. You will find a lot of live action here, including various Andar Bahar and Teen Patti tables, which we have seen more of recently.
Welcome Offer and Promotions
When you click on the ‘Promotions’ page, you will find all the promotions that are currently available at BetBarter. There is a welcome offer available, which is valid for the sportsbook and gives new customers 5 deposit bonuses of 25% each. You can get a total of 1 lakh, which comes to INR 20,000 for each bonus.
So, from the day of your registration, you can make five deposits and receive a 25% match bonus of up to INR 20,000 each time. Each bonus is valid for 7 days and must be rolled over 6 times on odds of 1.5 or higher at the sportsbook. Whilst you can withdraw your money at any time, any active bonuses will be cancelled if you do so.
Each new bonus will become available when you have either met the wagering requirements of the previous one or once the bonus has expired.
It is certainly an unusual bonus, but the conditions are quite fair, and you can make the most of it if you don’t use the full amount.
This welcome bonus aside, there is currently also a weekly sports deposit bonus of 20%, an 11% live casino cashback offer, an offer for INR 1,000 for free on top of an INR 50,000 deposit and a cricket expert promotion.
A 2-lakh prize pool was also available at the time of our review, which was a random lottery with wins of up to INR 50,000. Other promotions are likely to be available on a regular basis.
A VIP program or loyalty scheme does not seem to be available at BetBarter.
Payment methods at BetBarter
We are always happy to see a dedicated payments page at a bookmaker and BetBarter is one of the few where we found one as well.
You’ll find all payment methods listed here and pertinent details such as transaction limits, fees and whether or not a method is available for deposits and withdrawals.
Popular payment methods for Indian customers are bank transfer, PayTM, PhonePE, GPay, UPI payments, Astropay, IMPS, credit cards and cryptocurrencies.
Unfortunately, the number of available withdrawal methods is quite limited, leaving you with bank transfer, Astropay and not much else.
The FAQ section and terms and conditions provide further information about making withdrawals at BetBarter. It is important to note that you must have your ID verified before you can make your first withdrawal and you must wager your deposit at least once before a withdrawal is possible.
The transaction limit for withdrawals is INR 500,000, but no other limits appear to be in place, which is good news.
Support
Aside from browsing the FAQ section and other sites at BetBarter, where further information is available, you can also use the customer service to get help. The customer service is available 24/7 and can be reached on various social media channels as well as via email and live chat, of course.
The latter is easiest and faster than any other option. Simply click the little black speech bubble in the bottom right-hand corner and up pops a window with some pre-selected topics or the option to talk to BetBarter in English or Hindi.
The customer service at BetBarter enjoys a good reputation, which means help should be quick, efficient and professional.
Software
We are a bit torn about the software and web design at BetBarter. Overall, the design feels somewhat dated, with a classic main menu at the top and the usual list of sports on the left-hand side in the sportsbook. That said, the sportsbook must have received an upgrade not long ago as it looks different in older screenshots we have seen, and it feels fresh and modern now.
Navigation is smooth, intuitive and easy, resulting in a sportsbook that is accessible even to new punters.
This is also the case for the mobile page, which translates nicely to the smaller screen of your mobile device.
However, the same cannot be said for the casino, which has not received an update and still feels dated and slow to load at times. The game icons on the landing page are sometimes pixelated and chunky, populating the site slowly and giving the casino an old-fashioned feeling.
And, yes, this is also true for the mobile page, which does not improve on the experience at all. All the advantages of the sportsbook are lost here, which is why we feel so torn about the software at BetBarter.
Mobile apps are not available at this time.
Summary
On the whole, we like BetBarter. It is a solid sportsbook with great odds for customers from India, a betting exchange that allows you to lay and back bets at your own price, a decent casino and a fun live casino.
Whilst BetBarter is lacking in some areas, much of what they are doing is indeed well done and makes them a solid betting site for customers in India. The sportsbook isn’t massive but offers most of what Indian punters are looking for. And even though you won’t get to chase big jackpots at the casino, you can still have a lot of fun here.
We have no compelling reason why you shouldn’t check BetBarter out. As long as you are aware of their shortcomings, you can make good use of everything else they have to offer, which they do quite well indeed.
